SNS and adidas have reunited for one of their most significant collaborations yet, as the two parties have set out to reinstate the mythical adidas Harlem (HRLM)
This elusive sneaker, originally released in limited quantities sometime in the early 1980s, has ties to basketball, but that’s about as much as is known.
The story goes that, during a visit to the adidas archive, that the brand’s own comprehensive collection failed to account for the elusive adidas HRLM.
The re-introduction of this quintessential adidas sneaker involves creating a contemporary, accurate to the original, update that caters equally to collectors on the quest for the original pair and fans of adidas trainer culture. The SNS-exclusive adidas HRLM features a superior leather upper adorned with nubuck overlays, varying tones of blue on the triple stripes, and a modernized adidas Centennial Lo midsole designed to mimic the original pair as closely as possible.
For this monumental re-launch, SNS enlisted the ideal individual – Harlem’s very own “Diplomats” legend, musician, entrepreneur, and icon, Jim Jones. Born and bred in Harlem, a founding member of Dipset, Jones is renowned as one of New York City’s most influential rappers.
